Centurian Plans for the Future
It's a rare individual who plans for their second century, and beyond, but that's what Dorothy Huston did.
Having lived into her 100th year, Mrs. Huston passed away peacefully on April 6, 2011, after a brief illness. Not long after, we were notified that Mrs. Huston had made the agency a remainder beneficiary in her estate plans. When the estate was settled, the trustee sent Livingston $242,703.
That the Huston's would be so generous to Livingston and plan so carefully is not surprising. The Huston's had used Livingston's home healthcare services a number of times during their later years; and Dorothy was always dedicated to community service and helping others. Until retirement, Dorothy had worked as a nurse for many years in Oxnard.
We would like to think that Dorothy, being a nurse herself, recognized quality care and wanted it to be available to the community long after she passed away.
Thank you Dorothy and Raymond, your foresight has helped insure that vital Livingston home healthcare will remain available to everyone in the community, regardless of their ability to pay, for many years to come.
