A Family Obligation–A Labor of Love
We often talk about the "Livingston Family." We usually use the reference in relation to volunteers, Board members, employees, supporters and donors when they demonstrate exceptional loyalty, commitment or "go the extra mile." Marcia Donlon really is Livingston family, both in the figurative and literal sense. Marcia is the actual granddaughter of Dr. William R. Livingston, our namesake.
Marcia describes her grandfather as "Quite a character, but a good one. He was a very dynamic individual and I am honored to be his granddaughter." According to Marcia his two passions, which she shares, where medicine and travel. He was highly intellectual, an adventurer, a dedicated physician, involved politically, and very kind and generous to all. Having a larger than life grandfather, Marcia admits that she "stood in awe a little bit."
Today, Marcia serves on the Livingston Memorial Foundation Board. Not surprisingly, she attributes her family's loyal and generous giving to Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurse Association as supporting her grandfather's medical legacy.
Marcia told us, "The VNA is vital to our county and we will continue to contribute and support its dedication in the future. There are so many worthy causes out there, but this is my pet organization."
It is the loyal and generous giving of donors like Marcia Donlon that have sustained Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurse Association for over 65 years. We would like to thank the Donlon's and all of our loyal donors for keeping the vision of Dr. Livingston alive.
